About
Sundowner is a Berlin-based editorial platform, founded by Moses Mawila in 2019 as an event series with interviews and DJ mixes. Today the platform is run by a colourful group of international music lovers with a good ear for quality, and for who and what is coming up next.
Sundowner leads with emerging artists: producers, DJs, and live acts who are doing the work but have not yet hit the radar. First mixes, first interviews, first proper introductions to a wider audience. We pair that with sessions from established artists who shape the scene, and reviews of the records moving the conversation forward, because the underground runs on all three.
Promoters, bookers, clubs, and labels read Sundowner to stay close to what's moving in the underground. Every artist we feature has been chosen on the music, not the marketing budget. The platform is not a roster or a database. It's an editorial read on the scene, told through mixes, interviews, and reviews, written by people inside it, for the people who shape what gets booked and signed next.
Sundowner is run by a small international team of writers, DJs, and music obsessives who do this because they care about the music, not because it pays the rent. We're always open to new contributors: writers with a point of view, photographers, mix curators, and people who hear what's coming before it arrives. If you want in, get in touch.
We accept submissions from artists, labels, and managers year-round. No fee, no pay-for-coverage. Editorial decisions are made by working scene professionals: DJs, producers, label staff, and journalists who know what they are listening for. If your mix is ready and the story is real, send it.
